Mission Kombi

Our neighbours own a great little VW Kombi camper and a few weeks back we had the fun of going to the local fireworks display with them in it.  What a hoot – passing motorists literally honked their horns too and many folk waved and smiled.  I love the sense of fun Kombis invoke and we’ve decided it’s just what we need for Fiasco – it fits well with the fun and chaos we love.   These wagons are vibrant, unpredictable, loud and fill of character.  We could easily envisage a Kombi van with the Fiasco logo on the side.    Marketing aside, Aaron has been moaning about the difficulty in carting cases of wine around town in the small boot of his car, and the frustration at having to make multiple trips out to the bottling plant and back.

So you can see we have gone to some length to justify this expense as a tax deductible necessity  (the truth is we have long wished to go on a summer holiday around the North Island ;-)).  Now we just have to find one going cheap and going well.  Apparently it’s hard to price them as they are a cult vehicle and ‘worth’ is therefore more than the sum of the aging mechanical bits and pieces.  Trade Me here we come!

Cute! Every time I hear that characteristic Kombi purr now, I think of the soon-to-be Fiasco wine wagon. Big yay!
