Drink up – we’re in a recession

It’s interesting to see how the recession effects different businesses in different ways.  It appears that beer and wine are still popular purchases despite tough economic times.  It seems that people tend to play it safe by avoiding big ticket spending –  house and car sales are feeling the pinch, and the overseas trip is on the backburner.  However, in gloomy, insecure times a glass of wine with others can be just the antidote.   It helps people to relax and to focus on what really matters: their relationships with friends and family.

We’ve long be told that we are time poor, that we are getting fat, lazy and environmentally irresponsible because we drive everywhere, and that we have become too materialistic.  So it must be all good if the boss has to cut our hours, we have to bike to the shop, and a ‘big spend up’ is simply a wine to share with our mates 🙂

P.S: Our Sav goes great with Fish ‘n’ Chips, the Gee Whizz is better with Chinese 😉

    Amen to that! 🙂
